Vineyard: 180ha of linear, privately owned and single block,
situated at an altitude of 620-710 meters.
Location: “Hedgehog” sub-region, at 690 meters, with North exposure, facing lake Petres and mount Voras.
Vineyard Designated for the Specific Vineyard: 17,93ha.
Soil: Sandy, sandy -clay of excelent drainage.
Climate: Semi continental, with important precipitations and snowfalls during winter. Fresh, rather dry summers, with cool nights. Absence of spring frost and yearlong North West winds.
Harvest: Manual harvesting in small picking baskets.
Yield: 23 HL/ Ha , post to green harvest and selection.
Density of Plantation: 3.900 shoots / ha.
Vinification: Destemming, optical grape sorting and lightcrushing. Skin contact under controlled conditions. Alcoholic fermentation at gradual increasing temperatures in stainless steel tanks with cooling jackets. Maintenance of wine “sur lees” for 8 months with regular stirring.
Ageing: 12 months in French oak barriques, small grain, white toast and 12 months in the bottle before release.
Tasting Characteristics: Bright, deep ruby color. Intense and complex on the nose with excellent fruit ripeness and depth.
Smal red berries, floral and spicy with hints of minerality and dried tomato. Rich on the mouth, dry, with the nose aromas following into the mouth. Excelent freshness and expression of thevariety. Balanced acidity and velvety tannins. Spicy finish long and persistent.
