Vineyard: 180ha of linear, privately owned and single block, situated at an altitude of 620-710 meters.
Location: “Turtles” sub-region, at 660 meters, with North West exposure, facing mount Voras.
Vineyard Designated for the Specific Vineyard: 15,75ha.
Soil: Sandy, sandy – clay of excellent drainage.
Climate: Semi continental, with important precipitations and snowfalls during winter. Fresh, ratherdry summers, with cool nights. Absence of spring frost and yearlong North West winds.
Density of Plantation: 3.900 shoots / ha.
Harvest: Manual harvesting in small picking baskets.
Yield: 63 HL/Ha, post to green harvest and selection.
Vinification: Destemming, optical grape sorting and lightcrushing. Skin contact under controlled conditions.
Alcoholic fermentation at gradual increasing temperatures in stainless steel tanks with cooling jackets. Maintenance of wine”sur lees’ for 8 months with regular stirring.
Ageing: Twelve months in French oak barriques, small grain, white toast and 12 months in the bottle before release.
Tasting Characteristics: Bright, deep rubycolor. Intense and complex on the nose with excellent fruit ripeness and depth.
Earthy, with red fruit, peppery, with chocolate and tobacco. Full mouth, generous, velvety, round and balanced.
The nose aromas follow into the mouth, complemented by vanilla and mocha. Long, complex and persistent finish.
